The 2018 Festival will be held on the Hall Quay / South Quay on Saturday & Sunday 8th and 9th September, 10am to 5pm (approx) each day.
The Festival has been running continuously since Millenium Year (2000) and so is now in its 19th year.
Karen & Ernie are part of the original committee who conceived and orignated the Festival. Over the years Ernie has demonstrated - in the Demonstration Marquee - the art of maritime painting. Each year producing and displaying large canvases for use in decorating the stage and marquees at the Festival, to the delight of visitors and exhibitors alike.
Seagulls making an appearance in these paintings have been added by hundreds of members of the public who have been watching over his shoulder as Ernie painted 'live' at the Festival.
This year, we will not be taking part in the Demonstration Marquee, but that will leave us much more freedom to circulate amongst our friends and supporters attending over the two days.
It has always felt a bit of a compromise that we have had to 'take care' of our business aspect of the Festival at the expense of being able to engage in conversation with our visitors. This year will be different, and we look forward very much to seeing you there, and being able to spend time with you.
Please come and say hello!
